$1700 to replace windshield

It's less than 2 years old (2021 Forester Premium with Eyesight). Big crack across the windshield. Maybe a small rock hit it, wife not sure.

I now regret buying a Subaru.

Windshield glass quality is questionable.

Welcome to just about any modern windshield. The days of $75 glass are long gone, and sticker shock is very normal.
It sucks, but here we are in 2022, and not 1982. Wife had one replaced in a Camry a few years ago. $1300 TT&L, drive off. Glad we had glass on our insurance policy.

Yeah, get insurance! I've had 3 Subarus all cracked windshields. I don't know what it is about these Subarus? The glass guy told me this is common in Subarus.
